Majoré Coffee Table, Obsidian

The Majoré is a table of considered contradictions. Its exterior presents an uncompromising architectural mass, and within that mass, it conceals a secret.

The base is enveloped entirely in deep, high-polished obsidian piano-lacquer, a liquid-mirror finish of such depth and stillness that it functions as much as a reflective surface as a structural one. The textured sides of the table body, richly striated in a pattern of extraordinary complexity, catch the obsidian finish and hold it differently across every face, creating a composition that shifts between deep shadow and mirror-bright reflection depending on where the light falls and where the eye approaches from.

Above, the tabletop is surfaced in premium Eucalyptus veneer, its intricate, linear grain introducing a warm organic counterpoint to the darkness of the lacquer below. The two surfaces share the table in precise, unhurried equilibrium, wood above, obsidian below, each material clarifying the character of the other.

Concealed within the body of the table, a seamlessly integrated drawer opens with the ease of something engineered to disappear completely when closed. Its presence is discovered, not announced, a detail of functional intelligence that leaves the exterior composition entirely uninterrupted.
